The superb ‘Forest House’ of local couple, Paul Doherty & Brodie Nugent O’Leary along with their dog Hype, nestles in a stunning wooded area just outside the village of Kilmacrenan in Co. Donegal. Their new home has recently been awarded the Residential Project of the Year (Small) 2020 award by the Irish Construction Industry. Designed by Donegal based McCabe Architects, the house has been praised for it’s excellent use of materials.
NWA were approached by Paul & Brodie to provide a range of solutions for architectural aspects of the build and also to supply a range of our innovative, high quality Guaranteed Irish aluminium rainwater products. Our goal was to give them a solution that would provide a functional purpose but to also ensure their was no compromise to the architects and clients vision for the house.
Our technical team were tasked with designing and detailing a rafter cover that would again ensure the architectural integrity of the project was maintained. The 35 bespoke covers were then painted in a matt brown colour to match in with the burnt timber cladding and Aluminium soffit.
As you can see from the photographs it is fair to say that their new home is an incredible architectural piece from their choice of site to their interior finishing touches.
NWA are very proud to have worked on this project and are delighted that Paul & Brodie are now reaping the rewards for their hard work and the vision they have made a reality. We would like to give them our continued best wishes and a big thank you for choosing NWA.
